York Doll's House and Miniature Fair @ Wednesday, December 01, 2010
Last Sunday, I was lucky enough to be able to venture to York through the snow. I was in town to visit the Doll's House and Miniatures Fair, that was being held at York Racecourse. I went with my mum who is a collector...although I was hoping to collect a few miniature things for myself too.
I'd never been to this venue, so was unsure what to expect.. However I was pleasantly surprised. It was huge..Fours levels high. With many stalls. So I was there pretty much all day. Which with the cold snowy weather outside, was a good thing.
There were many interesting things to buy.. most of which is to put inside a house, however you can do what you like with the miniature bottles and teapots. I especially loved the layout of certain stalls, where the items were all laid out in front of you..
....So much colour!!
As I mentioned, I was hoping to pick up a few fun little items for myself too. I got a lovely selection of things, including a small Cadbury's Chocolate bar, little sewing items...and two miniature pots, which I plan to put on chains and make cute little vintage necklaces from.
Overall it was a good day, even if it did take a long time to get out of York due to the blizzard that started not long after we left the venue.
For anyone who is interested, the next fair is Sunday the 5th of June.
